ヴィンテージメキシカンジュエリーの価値、歴史

The value and history of vintage Mexican jewelry

It's already almost December, but I went to Mexico in September to purchase silver accessories and other things.

I walked around looking for vintage silver that I didn't know was there, while being nervous about the lack of security.

Although I had experience of going to Europe, it was only after I started purchasing silver accessories that I visited Mexico.

It's a foreign land, so I've noticed a lot of things, but what surprised me most was that the concept of vintage itself might not be very familiar to Mexicans.

Of course, there are some items that are considered to be valuable even if they are old, but they are called antiques that have been designed for more than 100 years and are positioned as ornamental or new jewelry design sources. There are many The price is also not something you can buy and sell.

↑Tasco, the mecca of silverware, sells a lot of sparkling new items.

What I'm looking for is vintage rings designed by an artist about 70 years ago. As with anything, just the right one is hard to find.

In such a way, I finally found it while walking around! When I was thinking and buying in high spirits, I was once asked, "Why do you bother to buy old things?"

Of course, even in Japan, there are people who prefer second-hand clothes and vintage accessories, and those who prefer newly designed and manufactured items, but I feel a big difference in perception when purchasing in Mexico.

↑A ring worn by an uncle I met in Taxco. When I asked them to sell me this, they told me to buy a new one.

As a buyer, I am happy, but I sometimes feel a mysterious emptiness in the huge difference between the tension of the local people and myself...

Well, while feeling such emptiness, this is the local situation! I'm getting what I thought. I may be insisting on Instagram, but I think the appeal of Mexican accessories with simple designs is that they can be matched with both modest clothes and casual clothes.

I talked about it lazily, but what I want to say is that I would like you to check out the silver accessories that I have collected while walking around Mexico.

If you can't understand from the photos, or if you send me a video of you wearing it, or if the lighting is difficult to understand, I'll take as many pictures as you like, so please feel free to ask me.

The owner is still studying, but I would like to write about the history of silver in Mexico, the relationship with Indian accessories, and so on.

Well then.
